There seems to be an endless number of Web sites set up to help 20 somethings keep up with the fast pace of life in the Big Apple, but Chicago has been largely ignored. Unlike in New York, there is no restaurant, bar, or club that all the skinny trendsetters are dying to get into. We have to Beatrice Inn, no Waverly, or even a hot spot for preppy college students like Dorrian's. What we do have, however, is great beer and the luxury of knowing that we do not have to try to keep up with any scene. We can go to any bar, enjoy ourselves, and not worry about whether we are wearing heels or ripped up jeans.
Still, in a city like Chicago, there are thousands of hidden gems. Whether you are a history buff looking to check out the house where Ginevra King, Fitzgerald's inspiration for The Great Gatsby ("Poor boys should not think of marrying rich girls" - her father was a nice guy), or you want to know where to get the best Guinness outside of Dublin, Chicago plays host to all these places.
